Fastball is a new and exciting sport that blends the best features of baseball and softball, and is played on a standard softball field. It features overhand pitching, with the pitcher only allowed to throw controlled speed fastballs and no breaking pitches. The speed of the pitches is monitored by a radar device and projected on a monitor attached to the backstop. The game stresses safety by utilizing a special reduced injury ball and wood bats give the game an authentic baseball feel. Fastball has been specialized to meet the interests of a variety of participants by age, gender, and ability. Fastball has been described as "a baseball game on a softball field", and has been called the best game to be developed in the past 100 years and the best Father-Son game ever!
